I had a little preview of the Holiday Band Concert this morning when members of the Elementary Band made a trip to the high school auditorium stage for a rehearsal.  The concert will take place tonight at 7:30 p.m.  You won't want to miss it!

Tickets are also on sale for the upcoming WIntersongs concerts which will be presented December 17 and 18, also at the high school...and also at 7:30 p.m.

Winter sports are now underway.  The Lady Gators will host Bradford on December 10; the Gator basketball team will host Brookville on December 14; and the Gator Wrestling team will host Sheffield December 16.

I went to Santa's Shop Saturday morning and took a few shots of some eager shoppers and a few timid tots who weren't real sure they wanted to sit with Santa.  Those pictures will be featured on this week's picture page.  Sunday, we decorated the church at the annual "hanging of the greens" or family festival as it was once called.  The group was small, but eager.  The result was a beautiful sanctuary!  Those who participated, can be proud!

The PAWC was going to surprise Mary Ellen Lewis at their Christmas Gathering but instead they were surprised.  Mary Ellen was very busy on Sunday and stayed at church till 3 p.m...the same time the WC was meeting.  She decided she had too many things to do and couldn't attend.  WC President, Debbie Johnson, gave her a call and explained that the gathering was organized in her honor and that her daughter and granddaughter had come from out-of-town to surprise her.  Mary Ellen was a trooper, got ready, and arrived shortly after being called. Congratulations, Mary Ellen!

Everyone enjoying the snow?  If I don't have to leave town for anything, I think the snow is beautiful.  If I have to venture out of town, it makes me a little afraid.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I really enjoy the holiday movies found on the Hallmark channel this time of year.  Some call them sappy, I call them heartwarming.  I've been enjoying one or two every night.  The rest of this week, I'll miss them.  The football banquet is Wednesday, the band concert is Thursday and the basketball game is Friday...we have a social obligation Saturday night, so I won't get another opportunity to turn to channel 64 until Sunday night.  Some of the movies I've seen dozens of times and know every word...some of them are very familiar, but I just can't remember what happens and a few are new to me!

However you're spending the time leading up to Christmas - in church, shopping, watching holiday shows, at sporting events or concerts - I hope you don't make yourself crazy and that you get to enjoy your time with friends and family.  So far, I'm not crazed...but as time gets closer and my list of undone tasks gets longer, I'll get crazy...it's almost a given.  I'll get through it!  I always do.
