Messy weather seems to have put a damper on crime and foolishness in the borough, giving the Port Allegany Police Department a relatively quiet week, from Monday, February 28 through Sunday, March 6.

Last Monday at 11:30 p.m. Officer Adam Dickerson received a complaint that a 27-year-old female had had sex with a 16-year-old male. The incident is under investigation.

The next morning at 10 Chief Dave Distrola was dispatched to a two-car crash on Broad Street. A gray Oldsmobile operated by Virginia Cherrington of 313 Chestnut Street was said to have passed through the intersection of Ann and Broad Street and been struck by a white Buick driven by Wanda Tilley of 406 Broad Street. Both drivers were taken to
Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

Friday at 7:12 p.m. Officer Tony Tanner helped a motorist with a vehicle lock-out on Church Street.

At 9:30 p.m. he received a call concerning an alleged harassment issue.  Tiffany Barber said Chris Ballway was following her outside the borough.  The matter was referred to Pennsylvania State Police.

Officer Tanner arrested Callista Bisher on a DUI charge, at 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

Saturday at 8 a.m. Officer Kyle Day received a call concerning a truck leaking some substance as it was approaching town. Day stopped the truck and cited the driver for an unsecured load violation. He was instructed to fix the problem at the scene. The truck was owned by Hoops of Ulysses. It was not known what was leaking from the vehicle.

At 8:30 a.m. Officer Day responded to a call reporting a burglary at Ronnie’s Auto on West Mill Street. Apparently someone had entered the building sometime overnight and had removed a known amount of cash.  Investigation continues.
